ATHLETICS

Athletics at Bethany Lutheran School exist as a part of the Christian training, which finds its purpose in God’s Word, where we are commanded to maintain our bodies as temples of the Holy Spirit.

Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?  You are not your own; you were bought at a price.  Therefore honor God with your body.”  1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Athletics afford students the opportunity to do just that.  Being Christian participants, we must also remember that at all times the Christian’s life is to be one in which he glorifies God.

“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all to the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31

This attitude should be demonstrated by all people involved in our athletic program players, coaches, parents and fans, so that above all, God is glorified.

MUSIC

Bethany Lutheran School offers an assortment of musical opportunities for its students.  From piano lessons for our 1st-8th graders to junior choir beginning in 5th grade, musical opportunities abound, and lessons are conducted on the school premises.

Does your child want to learn to play an instrument?  Band lessons are also available for students in grades 3-8.

Drama
Academics
Chapel

Bethany Lutheran School provides a variety of competitive academic events.  Within our classrooms students participate in a spelling bee, social studies fair, geography bee, forensics, math bowl, and science fair.  The results of these events help shape teams and individual participants that represent Bethany at the annual TELSS Academic Fair.

Students in 7th-8th grade also have two opportunities to study and explore God's creation each year.  Environmental camps are hosted at Olympic Lutherhaven in Bremerton, WA, in the fall and spring each year.

Students at Bethany Lutheran School participate in a drama production each year.  Students in 3rd-8th grade present a play each February and students in Kindergarten-2nd grade perform a musical each May.

Each Wednesday our school day begins with a worship service held in the sanctuary at 8:20am*.  Parents, families, and friends are always invited to these services.

An offering is taken at each chapel service.  The money is designated towards a special mission field of service outside of the school where this money will be sent.  Students are encouraged to develop the habit of good stewardship in sharing with others the blessings God has given them.

These services provide the students at Bethany Lutheran School a unique opportunity to serve their Lord.  Students assist chapel as chapel buddies, acolytes, ushers, Scripture readers.
